VOCALOID4 Editor
I have already installed VOCALOID4 Editor. However, when I try to start it, I get a message saying "The Program can't start because MSVCR110.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
1) If you are using Windows 7 and Service Pack 1 is not installed: Go to either of the following websites: http://www.microsoft.com/ja-jp/download/details.aspx?id=5842 (Japanese) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5842 (English) Depending on your OS environment, download and install one of the following: windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe (for 64-bit OS) windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe (for 32-bit OS) (If it has already been installed, skip this step.) 2) After Service Pack 1 is installed: Go to either of the following websites: http://www.microsoft.com/ja-jp/download/details.aspx?id=30679 (Japanese) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 (English) Then, download and install the following file: VSU_4/vcredist_x86.exe (VSU4/vcredist_x64.exe is not required.) 3) Use Windows Update to apply the latest patches. 4) Restart your computer.

I tried to start VOCALOID4 Editor, but I get an error message indicating that DSCL4.dll cannot be found on the computer and the software cannot be started.
Does the installation path for your VOCALOID4 Editor contain a semicolon (;)? If the installation path contains a semicolon (;), the software may not start correctly. If this happens, uninstall the software and then reinstall it to a path that does not contain a semicolon (;).

I cannot import MIDI files (SMFs).
Do your files have the ".midi" extension? VOCALOID4 Editor cannot open files with the ".midi" extension. Change the extension of your standard MIDI files (SMFs) to ".mid". In addition, if your files contain system exclusive (SysEx) data, VOCALOID4 Editor may not be able to recognize and load those files correctly.

A displayed window got lost somewhere on the display.
Make the mixer window floating (this can be set as follows:"Settings" menu -> "Preferences" -> "View Settings" tab -> "Mixer" section). Then, in the "Window" menu, select "Tile Horizontally" to align "Track Editor", "Musical Editor", and "VOCALOID MIXER" on the display.

It seems my computer gets slower and slower as I keep working on music composition.
Checking and, if necessary, revising the number of "Undo History Limit" can improve the performance of the software. From the "Settings" menu, select "Preferences", and then click the "Other Settings" tab to check the value of the "Undo History Limit" list box. If "no limit" is selected, change it to a limited number, such as "50 times".

Voice playback is intermittent or noisy.
This problem may be dependent on the performance of your computer. However, you may be able to fix it by checking and, if necessary, revising the audio buffer setting. From the "Settings" menu, select "Preferences", and then click the "Audio Settings" tab. At the bottom-right corner of the "Synthesis Engine" section, set the "Buffer Size" value to a value larger than the current setting.

When playing back a song, a dialog box indicating an undefined error appears, and the song cannot be played back.
This problem occurs when VOCALOID4 Editor cannot use your audio device due to "the device being occupied by some other application" or similar reason. Exit other applications and memory-resident programs that are running, and then restart VOCALOID4 Editor.

I have installed the software. However, when I try to enter a note, I get an error message saying "Failed to add note! Operation was not completed because of insufficient memory.", and therefore I cannot enter any note at all.
Verify that your computer has 2 GB of memory or more, which is one of the minimum system requirements of VOCALOID4 Editor. Also, if any applications other than VOCALOID4 Editor are running, exit the applications and then start VOCALOID4 Editor.

During playback, an error message saying "Cannot output waves" appears.
The error message "Cannot output waves (Undefined external error.)" is generated by your Windows OS. This error occurs in situations where, for example, other applications are using the audio device, or VOCALOID4 Editor cannot use the audio device because of a failure in the audio device driver. Exit other applications and memory-resident programs that are running and then start VOCALOID4 Editor. Also, check if the driver of your audio device is up-to-date.

During startup, I get a message saying "The Program can't start because mfc110u.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Start the VOCALOID4 Editor installer, and in the "Program Maintenance" dialog box, select "Repair".
